What this study does

The paper applies independent component analysis to multielement μ-XRF records as a data-driven method for separating mixed geochemical signals into interpretable climate proxies.

Main finding

The extracted components resolve major late-glacial and Holocene hydroclimate changes, including transitions around the Bølling–Allerød, Younger Dryas and early-to-mid Holocene.
